Find the Volunteer Opportunity That's Right For You

We always need caring, mature adults to meet the many needs of the young people that we serve.  Anyone who wants to work with young people at Youth for Christ is required to attend training that is helpful to them for the area that they want to volunteer in, as well as a screening process.  Below is a listing of the different areas that you can volunteer in and the training that will help you serve along side Youth for Christ of Kern County.

Direct Ministry Volunteers

This area is for volunteers who want to work regularly with young people.

To volunteer in this area you must complete: Certification Training and Evangelism Training.

Event Volunteers

This area is for volunteers who want to help with special events at least twice a year. Two examples of special events are Fall Camp and Project Serve.

To volunteer in this area you must complete: Certification Training.

Administration and Support Services Volunteers

This area is for volunteers who want to support Youth for Chirst in their ministry without working directly with the young people. Volunteers in this area can help out in the office, assist in public relations, and any other need that Youth for Christ has.

To volunteer in this area you must complete: YFC Presentation-including history and structure

Staff Development Volunteers

This area is for volunteers who want to assist with recruitment training and support of adults who volunteer with YFC.

To volunteer in this area you must complete: Certification Training and Evangelism Training. 

Volunteers in Training

This area is for volunteers who are 17-24 years of age, have graduated high school, and want to enter into a year long leadership training /mentorship program.

To volunteer in this area you must complete: 1 year of volunteer in training (VIT) leadership training.
